Soul Surfer

I really suggest you see the movie Soul Surfer. It's the story of this young woman who surfs and has an accident and loses one of her arms . The film is about how she learned that surf was not everything and  to be thankful that she survived a shark attack . She though that she will never be able to surf and do all day stuff because her arm was amputated and she will never be able to accomplish her dreams of being a professional surfer. Even trough all the difficulties, she accomplish her dreams to be a professional surfer. And she helped so many people to accomplish their dreams no matter their disability or difficulty it's all possible

This has to be one of my favorite movies and I will never get tired of it. It inspires me a lot every time I see it because I'm in a sport and don't have a disability and sometimes I say I can not do something and I am rather negative when she was in worse circumstances and was positive most of the time. If you want a role model, and inspirational movie be this is the right movie.

Decisions

Being a swimmer is hard; I have practice every day, the school responsibilities, the time with my family and the time for me. Sometimes you want to quit because you think that you have too many things in your plate.  But when the times are hard you got to show them that you are capable of all of it and more. It’s not going be easy but it’s not impossible. Our decisions in our future will affect us or help us, so make the right decision and never regret it.
“I don’t need easy, I just need possible.” – Bethany Hamilton from Soul Surfer

Happy New Years Folks!

This year my team finally will participate in the competitions of FPN in spanish for Swimming Federation of Puerto Rico. Every year people set goals to accomplish. This year will be to more responsible and dedicate more to my sport. This year will be a little difficult for me because I injured my knee. I have to do certain exercises so that my knee gets better. I hope I get better in the sport in general and in my injury. Don't forget to accomplish your goals and hope to see you soon.
Bye!

Competitions

In the past weekend I had my second competitions of the season. The events that I had to compete in were the longest of all the events. The competition was held in the university of El Turabo in Caguas. The first day I swam 400 meter IM. The second day of competition was the 1500 meter freestyle. The third day of competition was the 800 meter freestyle, the 400 meter freestyle and the 800 meter freestyle relay. I worked really hard for this competition and it was a complete success for me and my team. I broke my personal record in some of my events and I am very happy of it. I really hope I keep doing well in competitions but I have to work hard for it.
See ya' guys later. -Swim97

Work Hard

If you want something you have to work hard for it; because nothing is impossible in this life. I want to be a good swimmer and get a scholarship to get in a good university but I have to work hard to get it. First of all I have to get good grades and I have to put all my effords in the practice; is all or nothing. I have to be responsable with my things in school and  spare my time between school, swimming practice, being with friends and family and some time for myself. I practice 6 days a week, if I want something I have to work hard don't I?

Success

Like I told you guys previously I had a event of open-water. This event was in Ponce and it was a complete success. I swam with my partner Kathia all the time. We finished the event in 50 minutes or so, but waves were furious. Last year the sea was more calm but this year it was all the opposite. I really liked the event plus I got to pent time with my best friend and my swimming teammates. Soon will start the competitions in short course. This weekend there was a little friendly competition in my pool but I couldn't compete because it is for the little kids. My competition will be in a couple of weeks. I have been working hard and going to practice almost everyday, so I hope to kill it. Because there is nothing more fulfilling that to know that you worked hard to get something you really wanted. Happy weekend and see ya' guys soon!
