Competitions!

This weekend will be the next competitions. I am so happy because I really want to know how I am doing in my events. It has been so long since I competed I miss it so much. My event is the 100 meter breaststoke and the best thing is that I only got one event and is the second day early in the morning. These competititions are different because it is actually to the swimmers that have time from PREP, INT & NOV. We have left like one more competition after the championships and this competition is like another oportunnity for us to get the times we need for the championship which will be help in the Natatorium in San Juan in July.

In the water they can’t see you cry

In this book is the memoir or biography of Amanda Beard; that at the age of fourth teen walked at the Atlanta Olympics and left with two silvers and a gold medal. She has participated in three olympics having a total of 7 medals and also having a modeling career. Despite of all the success going in her life she felt unworthy of all of it. She was suffering from depression and she hid the pain behind fake smiles. In her late teens early twenties she became bulimic, and abused drugs and alcohol, also started to cut herself. Her low esteem brought her high-profile relationship with men in the sport world. No one knew about what was really happening to her. In this book she talks about how she struggled with depression, the pressure of being thin and the relationship she confused for love. In the book she also talks about how she gain the strength to live as bravely out of the water as she did in it.

Winston Churchill (1874-1965)

"El éxito es aprender a ir de fracaso en fracaso sin desesperarse."
"Success is about learning from failure to failure without despertaron."
Words from Winston Churchill

I really like this quote because being successful isn’t about always being the best without any effort. Or doing something because you are good at it. Being successful is about learning from your mistakes, and your failures. Is to keep going no matter how many times you didn’t do your best or broke your personal record. Is to step by step doing your best until you reach the top. In this competitions I didn’t do so good, but mistake by mistake, failure by failure I will get better at what I do. And that is how I will be successful…

Never give up on what you love...

The last weekend my team and I when to Arecibo to compete. The days were long and not so successful from my part. I was really disappointed because I didn't break my personal records. I really love to swim but I haven't been so motivated in the last days. Progress and success take time and I have to wait a little for me to go back on track. I will never give up and no matter how many times I fall I will get up again and again.

Sacrifices

In a sport you have to make sacrifices. Especially if it is swimming. Many days of the week are spend in the pool. Birthdays, family reunions, class' activities, school's activities are missed for days of practice. You have to make those sacrifices because if you don't do it you will never make progress.  Things aren't that easy to achieve but you have to work hard to achieve what you want.

Soul Surfer

I really suggest you see the movie Soul Surfer. It's the story of this young woman who surfs and has an accident and loses one of her arms . The film is about how she learned that surf was not everything and  to be thankful that she survived a shark attack . She though that she will never be able to surf and do all day stuff because her arm was amputated and she will never be able to accomplish her dreams of being a professional surfer. Even trough all the difficulties, she accomplish her dreams to be a professional surfer. And she helped so many people to accomplish their dreams no matter their disability or difficulty it's all possible

This has to be one of my favorite movies and I will never get tired of it. It inspires me a lot every time I see it because I'm in a sport and don't have a disability and sometimes I say I can not do something and I am rather negative when she was in worse circumstances and was positive most of the time. If you want a role model, and inspirational movie be this is the right movie.
